Singer, songwriter, bandleader, but best known for his work as session musician, he sings and plays guitar, bass and piano on many recordings.
He also toured with Bob Dylan as his bandleader and as opening act on the Rolling Thunder Revue and with Robert Gordon and Link Wray.
